Area 419 ZERO Spring-Loaded Decapping Die
Price range: $50.00 through $75.00
NOTE: Not for use with cartridges 20 cal or smaller.
Primer drawback sucks. It’s frustrating, and can cause all sorts of process inconveniences. So, let’s get them the heck out of the way.
The Area 419 ZERO Universal Decapper (Universal because it’ll work with any common press, or any common cartridge) has a spring loaded decapping pin, with replaceable heads, so you can send primers straight to hell the trash bin with no headaches, no drawback, and a satisfying “ping”.
The body of the die is aluminum, with all of the moving parts being of steel construction.
This die will work with cases up to and including 338 Lapua length/diameter with no need for different inserts, and is compatible with any common press or shellholder.

One thing is for sure every product I have bought from Area419 has been absolutely amazing. This recapped die is a work of art and it is a beast I just got done recapping 3000 223 cases and it worked beautifully. Definitely. Well worth the money!!
Joseph Salamone (verified owner) –
Top notch quality!
Rodney T. (verified owner) –
A welcome addition for those that wanna decap before cleaning and annealing. The spring loaded decapping pin makes the spent primers fly out of the case! Was glad I have the primer catcher installed on my press 🤣

After years of using a universal decapping die from another manufacturers and constantly going through new decapping pins I finally found a solution. This will is incredible. Highly recommend.

Works incredible!
Uldis Dzerkals (verified owner) –
As Area 419 you did very well, just shipping company, made me headache, better use Fedex for internationla shipments. Your colleagues SAC using Fedex and very successfully.

One serious used primer popper. I love having a dedicated workhorse of a decapping die.
Nathan T. (verified owner) –
The best deprived I’ve ever owned. It does everything up to 338 Lapua magnum so no need to have separate deprimers.. one does it all! The spring feature is really cool too, it gives positive feedback that the primer is out.
Shawn J. (verified owner) –
Great product!
Chris W. (verified owner) –
High quality universal die that will get lots of use and maybe a little abuse. So far so good. I used a Hornady locking ring. Not a lot through it yet. 400 magnum bottleneck cases up to .338 Lapua. Easy setup.
Steve R. (verified owner) –
Well made and good value for money overall but I do have concerns on the pin strength for tightly seated primers. On Lapua brass with small CCI primers I am starting to see the pin bending after only 100 rounds processed.
Joseph L. (verified owner) –
Works well
Clint (verified owner) –
Always great products and service at 419!
Michael G. (verified owner) –
Allows me to decap dirty brass without messing up other dies.
davenkristie (verified owner) –
Yep. It’s the bee’s knees. The cat’s pajamas. No primer sticking.
Joe Cabigas (verified owner) –
Excellent product

Nathan L. (verified owner) –
Absolutely awesome! Does a fantastic job in removing primers. Word to the wise so noone has to run into my experience again. If you are going to use this on a rcbs turret press do not. The gap is not large enough when you rotate the head for the decapping pin. Bent my first one into a banana. But luckily the decapping die ships with a spare.
Leo Willman (verified owner) –
Great quality!
larry.deployed (verified owner) –
If you have a zero press, you NEED one of these. Complete eliminates the few straggler spent primers that didn’t make it into the chute when I used my universal decapper. The audible you feedback you get when using this is very helpful as well.
Waad S. (verified owner) –
Worth every penny.
KEVIN S. (verified owner) –
Worth every penny!
Nate (verified owner) –
I love the little click of the primers being ejected from teh pin. Its become a bit pavlovian
Justin (verified owner) –
Fit, finish and function are top notch. The included wrench in the set I got was an older version and too tight to get a full bite on the lock ring. One email and 419 sent a new one out right away. Excellent service and an outstanding addition to my bench. Thank you.
Daniel Jasper (verified owner) –
Fantastic improvement over all the other decappers I have used
Aaron T. (verified owner) –
No more small primers reseated in the case when decapping!
Jonathan Chandler (verified owner) –
Works fantastic! The price is great to.
Spencer (verified owner) –
Love the spring loaded “pop” while using this!
Delbert McCord (verified owner) –
This decapping die works great!
John (verified owner) –
So far so good. They aren’t lying this thing will launch spent primers. My LNL classic press will sometimes get primers stuck inside of it. Not with this die it shoots them out.
My only issue is I wish the threads went another 1/4″ up the die body. With my Hornady quick change die bushings I am unable to use a lock ring and screw the die in far enough to be used. The lock ring prevents it from getting low enough. I have to remove the lock ring and just screw the die all the way down to the bushing.
Mike P. (verified owner) –
Very nice

Great product! If you’re processing a lot of expensive SR primer brass like Lapua or Alpha OCD BR, Dasher, GT you need one of these. The prompt delivery and quality packaging unfortunately just isn’t a standard to be taken for granted anymore, so props to A419 matching these two aspects comensurate to the quality of their product.
George or Pam Toon (verified owner) –
Awesome product!
Tim O’Toole (verified owner) –
Excellent design, no more stuck primers
Layne Merritt (verified owner) –
This is the decapping tool that I’ve been looking for. Easy to set up and performs flawlessly; there is a reassuring “pop” when the primer is pushed out.
James Chisom (verified owner) –
Replaced all my previous decappers for rifles.
John Cartwright (verified owner) –
Yet another example of high quality products from Area 419. Works perfectly.
Anthony L. (verified owner) –
Exactly what I needed! Very high quality materials and construction. The spring action operates smoothly and consistently – completely fixed the problem I was having with ejected primers jamming up my Forster Co-Ax press. (Not sure what I’m going to do with my old decapping dies that I will never use again!)
Christian B. (verified owner) –
A great addition to my ZERO Turret, fits in small primer flash holes and love the pin swap ability.
Mark T. (verified owner) –
No more stuck primers! just a reassuring ‘ting’ as each primer is sent forcefully on its way.
James Jacob (verified owner) –
This is the best decamping doe ever! When that old primer hits the dumper you will grin ear to ear I promise. No more BS when you recap it’s gone with a very satisfying ping. Buy one you will not regret it
Larry G. (verified owner) –
I haven’t had a chance to install this yet, but it looks to have all the quality I expect from Area 419.

Jadon Wilkerson (verified owner) –
Works and looks phenomenally.
John W. (verified owner) –
This thing is the Biggest Piece of Shooting reloading equipment I needed lately!!!!
I have used a cheap Lee decapping die for thousands of rounds. I needed to reload some 338 lapua and it would not fit in the Lee die. I bought this well because it is Area 419. I love the way the spring feels and works. Wish I would have bought a long time ago!!!
Ryan S. (verified owner) –
The spring ejection makes a big, positive difference. Glad I went this route.
Paul Talone (verified owner) –

William B. (verified owner) –
I WAS HAVING TROUBLE WITH SOME OF MY DECAPPED PRIMERS NOT MAKING IT TO THE CATCH TRAY. I called customer service and they recommended this decappper. I was hesitant because I already had two decappers and the Mighty Armory decapper was out of stock. In the meantime I ordered several accessories for my Zero. The quality of the other accessories was so good that I decided to go ahead and try the Mighty Armory. That was a good decision on my part. Excellent performance with this tool. It is well made and pops the primers into the collection chute every time.
If you are on the fence about this product, go ahead and get it. I am glad that I made the right decision!
Jan Cremers (verified owner) –
Good Die! Works great with the ZERO Press, because of the spring system. Every primer lands in the primerbin!
Michael P. (verified owner) –
Works flawlessly with the Zero Press, much better than normal decapping dies which can have primers stick causing delays in the process
