Description
Area 419 is always looking for ways to improve existing products when we are not developing new technologies. The bipod rail, as simple as it may seem, was one that could use some improvement. We started from scratch on this project, and came up with a pretty slick rail!
- Rail is 4.8″ long with 10 slots. This gives you 43% more slots than the competition. The best part is, it weighs in at a paltry 1.09oz compared to 1.18oz for the smaller competitor.
- No sharp edges. Every corner is radiused, and every edge is chamfered on the machine. This takes much longer to make, but it is the only right way.
- Accommodates anywhere from 1.5″ – 3.475″ center on center screw hole spacing. If you are closer to the 1.5″ spacing, we do not suggest using the flush cup mount for carrying the rifle, it will just have too much leverage and may tear the thread insert out of the stock.
- One full width lug to accommodate Larue style bipod mounts.
- Every slot is usable no matter where your mounting screws are. This is a foreign feature to other competitors where the screws are not countersunk below the slot level.
- Made from 7075-T651 Aluminum for the greatest strength possible while maintaining its light weight.
- Made in-house here in the USA from USA sourced Aluminum on USA made CNCs
- Standard rail comes with (2) 10-32 x 3/4″ Low profile socket head cap screws and (2) tee-nuts for installation in stocks with no hardware. A 3/4″ paddle bit and drill press may be required for installation of tee-nuts.

I’m on the fence about this item, for my use the screws that come with the rail were to short, also unable to find the correct screws nearby or online, I emailed and Area 419 sent out longer screws, I think the longer screws should have been included along with the shorter screws. Part of this was caused by me refusing to bore my stock any deeper to accomodate the shorter screws, I give it a 3 out of 5.

Hurt my soul installing this on my MTR stock but looks good and is solid as a rock. Only thing I would suggest is offsetting the main channel slot by like 4-8mm so the screw can seat properly inside the channel specifically for the CZ 457 MTR. I drilled through the existing sling swivel stud holes, and it was off by a smidge. Didn’t impede the function at all, just wanted to mention this in case anyone cares.

Need to figure out why built in cant bubble level on this 30 degree rail does not match my precision level I set on top of the rail during set up. Doesn’t really matter because I’m mounting one on the scope tube that I can easily see while shooting. Other than that it fits very good on my CZ 457 with excellent machining.

The rail is very high quality and well machined.
My existing mounting holes were spaced at 1.5″ center to center which I used but as the instructions point out, this would make using the QD sling cup dangerous and would be too much stress on the rail. So I added a third mounting hole all the way at the back for three total and a rock solid mount.
Area 419 was very helpful in providing extra hardware for me to add this third bolt.

Only issue I had was that my flush cup on my sling would not snap in to the flush cup mount on the rail. On most reviews I would have dropped it to a 4 star because of this, but when I emailed customer service they were completely upfront that there were some issues with this that they believed were due to the anodizing being a little thicker on some rails that others. They put me in the system to have a replacement rail shipped asap. For that reason I gave 5 stars. My first time dealing with this company, but will not be my last.
