Primer drawback sucks. It’s frustrating, and can cause all sorts of process inconveniences. So, let’s get them the heck out of the way.
The Area 419 ZERO Universal Decapper (Universal because it’ll work with any common press, or any common cartridge) has a spring loaded decapping pin, with replaceable heads, so you can send primers straight to hell the trash bin with no headaches, no drawback, and a satisfying “ping”.
The body of the die is aluminum, with all of the moving parts being of steel construction.
This die will work with cases up to and including 338 Lapua length/diameter with no need for different inserts, and is compatible with any common press or shellholder.

High quality universal die that will get lots of use and maybe a little abuse. So far so good. I used a Hornady locking ring. Not a lot through it yet. 400 magnum bottleneck cases up to .338 Lapua. Easy setup.

Absolutely awesome! Does a fantastic job in removing primers. Word to the wise so noone has to run into my experience again. If you are going to use this on a rcbs turret press do not. The gap is not large enough when you rotate the head for the decapping pin. Bent my first one into a banana. But luckily the decapping die ships with a spare.

If you have a zero press, you NEED one of these. Complete eliminates the few straggler spent primers that didn’t make it into the chute when I used my universal decapper. The audible you feedback you get when using this is very helpful as well.

So far so good. They aren’t lying this thing will launch spent primers. My LNL classic press will sometimes get primers stuck inside of it. Not with this die it shoots them out.
My only issue is I wish the threads went another 1/4″ up the die body. With my Hornady quick change die bushings I am unable to use a lock ring and screw the die in far enough to be used. The lock ring prevents it from getting low enough. I have to remove the lock ring and just screw the die all the way down to the bushing.

Great product! If you’re processing a lot of expensive SR primer brass like Lapua or Alpha OCD BR, Dasher, GT you need one of these. The prompt delivery and quality packaging unfortunately just isn’t a standard to be taken for granted anymore, so props to A419 matching these two aspects comensurate to the quality of their product.

I WAS HAVING TROUBLE WITH SOME OF MY DECAPPED PRIMERS NOT MAKING IT TO THE CATCH TRAY. I called customer service and they recommended this decappper. I was hesitant because I already had two decappers and the Mighty Armory decapper was out of stock. In the meantime I ordered several accessories for my Zero. The quality of the other accessories was so good that I decided to go ahead and try the Mighty Armory. That was a good decision on my part. Excellent performance with this tool. It is well made and pops the primers into the collection chute every time.
If you are on the fence about this product, go ahead and get it. I am glad that I made the right decision!
