CNC Lathe Setter/Operator

Area 419 is searching for an experienced CNC Lathe Setter/Operator. We continue to grow and need to add to the team, we are looking for a skilled Lathe Setter/Operator for a full-time, 40 hour a week first shift. This position is accountable for setting up and running programs for Dual Spindle Live Tool DMG & HAAS CNC LATHE machines.

Machinist Responsibilities:

  • Tooling up machines and proofing programs
  • Check programs and run a simulation prior to the CNC operation running the program on the machine and making the part
  • Monitor and change cutting tools as needed
  • Operate equipment utilizing proper speed, feed rate, and depth of cut to achieve optimal part cost, quality, throughput, and on time customer deliveries
  • Ensure that the machines and programs operate correctly and that products meet specifications
  • Maintain a clean and neat work area

Machinist Requirements:

  • High School diploma (or equivalent) required
  • Associates in Engineering Technology or other related field from a technical institute and/or advance apprenticeship is an advantage
  • 3-5 years of CNC Setup & Operation experience required with experience in programming an advantage
  • Experience with a wide range of part complexity and materials
  • Be a self starter and work autonomously
  • Will employ critical thinking, logic and reasoning to troubleshoot and solve problems
  • MasterCAM proficiency desired
  • CMM Experience an advantage
  • AS9100 / Aerospace experience and advantage4
  • We are a Firearms Manufacture so must clear a background check

CNC LATHE PROGRAMMER

Area 419 is searching for a full time CNC Lathe Programmer. Due to our rapid growth, we are looking for a skilled Lathe Programmer for a full-time, 40 hour a week first shift. This position is accountable for developing and implementing new part programs for HAAS CNC LATHE machine operations.

Machinist Responsibilities:

  • Creates machining instructions by reviewing three-dimensional computer aided/automated design (CAD) blueprints and models to determine job specifications and requirements
  • Determines the sequence of operations and required fixturing
  • Check programs and run a simulation prior to the CNC operation running the program on the machine and making the object
  • Monitor and change cutting tools as needed
  • Operate equipment utilizing proper speed, feed rate, and depth of cut to achieve optimal part cost, quality, throughput, and on time customer deliveries
  • After programming, ensure that the machines and programs operate correctly and that products meet specifications
  • Maintain a clean and neat work area

Machinist Requirements:

Pay: $21 – $35 per hour


CNC Operator

Area 419 is searching for two additional full time CNC operators. We will be moving from our facility in Grand Rapids, to our new property in Delta Ohio at the beginning of the new year 2021. As we continue to grow and add more machines we need to add to our production team as well. Previous CNC experience with lathes and/or Mills, and the ability to read precision measuring tools is a must. Ability to setup machines and light programming is always a plus but not required. Must be motivated, be self motivated, and have a desire to learn.

While your primary responsibility will be to operate the machines as necessary to produce the growing demand for our precision parts. We are not a job shop, we manufacture all our own products, team members share many responsibilities. We provide a safe, clean, climate controlled shop that has a family atmosphere. As a firearms manufacturer, you will also be required to clear a criminal background check as well as a drug test.

We currently only run a single shift, I state this only because a second shift is not out of the question as we continue to grow. Operators average between 40 and 50 hours a week.

We are located in NW Ohio. Pay is dependent on your experience, but you will be compensated fairly. We do offer a nice 401k package and a great health insurance plan, along with profit sharing bonuses.
