This is only compatible with Area 419 V2 Auto throw Housings or V3 Thrower housings.
Since we released the upgraded Auto-Throw Housing and the Hopper, people have been unsatisfied with the rigidity of that junk plastic lid that comes with the A&D scale. We get it, our wives have tupperware with less flex. With the upgrade though, it had to be more than rigid. We wanted to improve the user experience – and it had to be sexy. I think we nailed it.
Made of Lexan, which is super clear and crazy strong, this lid is rock solid on the scale and doesn’t require those little gray plastic inserts with felt on them. You can also see through the lid down into the cup for a better view into what’s going on. This lid is compatible (of course) with our straw replacement, and should time very close to perfect each time.
We think you’ll love it, and appreciate you being a customer.

Received my new A&D scale top this week and love it! The heavy glass powder hopper was just too heavy for the lid that came with the scale. Scientific scales were not designed for reloading although they do work very well when adapted for the purpose.

Here I was thinking about another quality aluminium product from Area419. How dumb of me!
This Lexan lid is the new lens into reloading for the A&D, and can I see clearly. No more cranking of the neck and clumsy repositioning of the cup.
Thanks again guys, I can load a confident weight.

I recently acquired a V3 Auto Trickler and after setup on my FX-120i , I was underwhelmed with the flexibility/movement of the auto drop mounted to the plastic top. A buddy who saw you at the Shot Show told me to visit you website and I ordered one immediately. WOW what a difference, well thought out and precision made, plus Lexan looks cool. Excellent product and I’ll mention it to my buddies on Accurateshooter.com.

My only “grievance” is 100% not related to function. I have to admit, having always heard amazing, raving reviews of Area 419 and their work…I was a bit disappointed seeing the finish along the outside edges of the lid where they cut it.
Mine had very noticeable “chatter marks” from the cutting process. Again, this has no bearing on the functional aspect of the lid…it’s purely an aesthetics disappointment. Some time spent with varying degree grits of sandpaper fixed the issue.
Moving past that…the lid is amazing, and the lid feels like a 3/8” piece of steel compared to where the FX120i “factory” lid feels/flexes like a piece of paper.
I do not regret the purchase in any way and I would buy it again. As I said, I was just surprised it didn’t come with a glossy smooth finish like I thought it would due to Area 419’s reputation.

Great enhancement from original. More solid and easier viewing of what’s going on with the drops.

This lid is very solid. I have very few kernels escape the powder tray (Area 419 powder tray), much better than the standard lid.

Awesome

You might consider producing your cover as in the picture. The front windscreen can be removed and replaced without having to take the cover/Autothrow off the scale. Much more convenient.

Quite a lot sturdier than expected. Really helps in seeing whats going on.

This is a solid and tight fitting accessory that you gotta have!

If you have a auto trickler and want to take it from a 10 to 11 then buy upgrades from area419 it sucks to have to add to a already expensive setup but you won’t regret it! They have fixed all the short falls of the setup to bring it up to the level that the setup should be !

The lid fit perfectly. Now I can better see the alignment of the cup/autothrow/trickler. Plus the lid is much more ridged.

Nice, heavy duty piece. Definitely worth the price.

Nice touch for the Auto Trickler setup.

It can hold a static charge which will throw off the scale significantly, however I found that carefully washing the lid using laundry detergent seems to do the trick of balancing the charge. Do not wipe it with dryer sheets, they will scratch the finish. When you have a scale like this you are always battling static and it is not the lid’s fault. It is a five star product!

Precision cut and fit was perfect.

I wish the groove on the bottom side for the side pieces went all the way around. I put the side piece back in when I’m finished and the Clear Top is offset because the groove doesn’t go all the way around. I have a little OCD.
Craig Arnzen (store manager) –
The best way to remedy your issue is to trim the top from the front panel. Routing the groove all the way around would impede visibility for the vast majority of people that don’t have any sort of shield on the front.
Chance L. (verified owner) –
This is an absolute must have. It lets you see what’s going on and makes the entire top more stable then with what comes with the balance.

Nice and heavy. Great to see through. But it would be better if it were inset all the way around instead of just 3 sides. Now I will have to cut the access panel which I bought that has an access window to make it fit. Can’t really understand why it wasn’t inset all the way around to begin with.
Craig Arnzen (store manager) –
Robert – the thought behind the 3-sided groove was to maintain as much visibility from the top as possible. The Lexan becomes frosted when the track is cut. As most customers fully remove the front windscreen, this gives the most visibility and utility to the most people.
