Area 419’s 8×40 scope base screw upgrade ensures your scope is aligned perfectly with your bolt/barrel and is performed on our HAAS 4 Axis VMC.
- Action is probed using the incredibly accurate Renishaw probing system. The probe measures the face of the action for the zero point, then measures the angle of the truing rod placed in the bolt raceway. This removes all user error from this process, as the entire coordinate system of the CNC gets rotated to match the truing rod, guaranteeing the screw holes are all parallel with the raceway.
- Holes are circular interpolated with an 1/8″ carbide endmill. Drilling holes is not sufficient, as a drill operation will follow the path of least resistance, even when using an endmill as the drill.
- 8×40 Threads are thread milled into the receiver. Again, tapping will follow the path of least resistance and not guarantee everything is where it should be.
